I look forward to the Mortgage Star Conference every year. Call me biased, but I truly believe this event brings out the very best in women, not just in their professional expertise, but in their willingness to lift each other higher. It’s a day rooted in support, authentic knowledge sharing, and genuine community.
This year, we opened with a meet-and-greet at the Carousel Bar, our first time trying something like this. What could have been a casual icebreaker became a powerful reminder of the importance of connection. Before the sessions even began, women were swapping stories, building relationships, and finding common ground. That energy set the tone for everything that followed.
One standout moment for me was presenting a session on the importance of networking with Meghan Golden, Director of Digital Communications for the Mortgage Women Leadership Council. What many don’t realize is that Meghan was involved in creating the council before I was, and she deserves so much credit for the dedication and passion she has poured into building this organization. Her commitment to creating a safe, empowering space for women in mortgage to stretch their wings and fly has been remarkable.
It was long overdue, but incredibly special, to stand beside Meghan while she confidently shared her personal experiences with a room full of women. To see her allow herself to be both vulnerable and strong was a defining moment. That’s truly what this conference is all about.
