The Women Who L.E.A.D. Mentorship Program is designed to strengthen leadership skills and create a supportive framework for emerging leaders. Using proven processes and professional development resources, the program fosters meaningful mentor-mentee relationships while building a strong foundation for long-term success.
The program begins with structured mentor training from October through December, followed by the launch of mentor-mentee assignments in January. The mentorship then continues through June, requiring a total commitment of nine months from each mentor.
Mentor training is conducted over multiple sessions, designed to prepare participants with the tools and strategies needed for effective mentorship.
After training, mentors are paired with mentees and commit to nine months of mentorship, including regular check-ins and support sessions.
Each mentor is assigned a small group of mentees, creating space for personalized guidance and stronger connections.
To maintain program quality, participants are expected to uphold high attendance standards. Mentors are required to attend training sessions and monthly check-ins, with only limited absences permitted. Consistency ensures mentors and mentees receive the full benefit of the program.

There’s a type of work in the mortgage industry that almost no one talks about.

A leader in the mortgage industry and “a visionary” according to her peers, Kelly Zitlow sits at the helm of a nonprofit empowering girls to master the use of power tools and take on the lost art of building with their hands.

May is a month of momentum, a time when the industry looks ahead, opportunities begin to take shape, and leadership conversations become even more important.
After an incredible first day at the California Mortgage Expo, mortgage professionals gathered in Irvine for an evening focused on connection, community, and supporting the women shaping the future of the industry.
